Itaú Cultural helps promote the value of the culture of a society as complex and varied as Brazil. It is an institute dedicated to research, to the production of content, and to mapping, encouraging and disseminating artistic and intellectual manifestations.

Itaú Cultural sees culture as an essential tool for building the country’s identity and as an efficient medium for promoting citizenship, and it seeks to promote social participation, making it more democratic within the cultural sphere. The Institute is a cultural benchmark in Brazil, and has promoted and disseminated artistic and intellectual output within Brazil itself and overseas for more than 25 years.

Mission

Our mission is to develop and organize processes related to, and create knowledge about, the arts in Brazil; to understand the country’s cultural practices, and to extend access to culture and promote social participation on the basis of these practices.

Vision

Within the space of the coming decade we hope to be a benchmark for reflection on, and the manifestation of, cultural action within the field of Brazilian arts.
